Injection Molding Operator — Quality & Start-Up

Job summary

Silgan Containers is seeking a reliable production operator to support injection molding and grinding operations, focusing on product safety and quality while meeting daily production targets.

You will start up machines, monitor output, collect parts, perform quality checks, label and tape boxes for shipment, and prepare shift-end paperwork. Maintain a clean, safe workspace and follow all safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare production paperwork for machine start-up and operation.
• Monitor machine operation to ensure parts are collected into storage boxes and are counted correctly.
• Pull shots for quality checks following machine re-starts or as needed.
• Identify nonconformities and inform the Shift QA. (hourly checks)
• Evaluate product to ensure high quality and conformance with established standards.
• Report any food safety and quality problems or concerns.
• Evaluate and document machine performance.
• Tape boxes shut, label the boxes, and stack for shipment.
• Prepare paperwork at the end of the shift for the following shift, noting any problems or exceptions that occurred.
• Maintain a clean and safe working area.
• Perform sweeping, cleaning, sorting duties as necessary.
• Perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and procedures
• Start up Injection molding machines
• Clean out grinders
• Trouble shoot minor machine/part issues
