Job summary

Randstad USA seeks an Injection Molding Maintenance Technician III for the night shift in Hanover Park, IL. You will troubleshoot, repair, and optimize high-volume molding equipment in a fast-paced environment, ensuring uptime and quality.

This hands-on role requires electro-mechanical skills, arc flash awareness, and the ability to work independently, including a 3-day weekend rotation every other week. Great benefits after 90 days.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of electro-mechanical troubleshooting in manufacturing.
• Experience with injection molding plastics preferred.
• Able to troubleshoot up to 480V AC with IO diagnostics and servo theory.
• Solid understanding of pneumatic, hydraulic, and automation systems.
• Strong documentation and maintenance software usage.
• Associates degree in electronics or technical discipline preferred.
• Basic PC skills (Excel, Outlook, maintenance systems).
• Able to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and electrical drawings.
• Forklift certification or willingness to obtain.
• Capable of independent work and urgent issue response.
• Arc flash safety training or electrical safety awareness.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot non-functioning electro‑mechanical systems including robotics and molding machines.
• Perform complex mechanical repairs, adjustments, and rebuilds to maintain uptime.
• Dismantle and reassemble equipment using blueprints and schematics.
• Perform and document scheduled preventive maintenance routines.
• Calibrate equipment using specialized testing tools.
• Support machine changeovers and optimize molding parameters for efficiency and quality.
• Maintain equipment data for root cause analysis and continuous improvement.
• Coordinate with suppliers or internal teams to source parts or upgrades.
• Ensure compliance with electrical and arc flash safety protocols.
• Follow safety procedures including Lock-Out/Tag-Out, PPE, and GMPs.

Injection Molding Maintenance Technician III | Night Shift | High-Volume Plastics Manufacturing (Troubleshoot, maintain, and optimize injection molding equipment in a fast-paced production environment.)

Location: Hanover Park, IL Schedule: 2-2-3 Rotating Shift (3-day weekend every other week!) Hours: 6:45 PM – 7:00 AM 30-minute unpaid lunch + 2 extra paid breaks per night

Pay: $35–$39/hr + 5% Night Shift Differential (based on experience)

Role Summary: Randstad USA is seeking an experienced Injection Molding Technician to support overnight manufacturing operations. In this hands‑on role, you’ll be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and improving the performance of injection molding machines and auxiliary systems. Ideal for technicians with plastics industry experience and solid electrical troubleshooting skills—including arc flash awareness.

Qualifications & Skills:

• 5–8+ years of experience with electro‑mechanical troubleshooting in a manufacturing setting
• Injection molding experience preferred (plastics industry)
• Proficient in troubleshooting up to 480V AC, IO‑level diagnostics, and servo positioning theory
• Solid understanding of pneumatic, hydraulic, and automation systems
• strong documentation skills and use of maintenance tracking software
• Associates degree in electronics or technical discipline preferred
• Basic PC knowledge (Excel, Outlook, maintenance systems)
• Must be able to read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and geometric figures
• Forklift certification or willingness to obtain
• Must be able to work independently and address urgent maintenance issues before PMs
• Arc flash safety training or understanding of electrical safety best practices

Compensation & Benefits:

• $35–$39/hr base + 5% night shift differential
