Job summary

NPAworldwide in Bloomingdale, IL is seeking a skilled Injection Molding Technician to support mold setups, process troubleshooting, and continuous improvement across second and third shifts.

You will train operators, document settings, and collaborate with automation and maintenance teams to minimize scrap and downtime while following SOPs and company procedures. Experience with robots/EOAT and a strong analytical mindset are valued.

Qualifications

2–5 years of experience in plastic injection molding setup, processing and troubleshooting.
Understanding of scientific molding concepts and injection mold design.
Ability to implement, explain, and defend molding process adjustments.
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Job description

Key Responsibilities

Mold setups and teardowns, machine startups/shutdowns, assist with maintenance duties, and troubleshoot molding processes within established and monitored parameters.
Document process settings and assist with approved process changes.
Minimize production scrap rates and downtime through efficient troubleshooting and maintenance efforts.
Assist in training operators and molding personnel on standard operating procedures.
Assist with automation integration and auxiliary equipment setup.
Support engineering and maintenance teams during equipment & process troubleshooting.
Identify opportunities to improve process consistency and efficiency.
Assist in continuous improvement initiatives throughout the department.

Pay

$30.90 - $39.30 per hour (Depending on experience, may do more if needed).

Shift differential pay per shift: 10% and $1.50/hr on 1st shift, 20% and $2.50/hr on 2nd shift.

Schedule

FOR 2ND SHIFT: 3:30 PM - 12:00 AM (Mon-Fri, and occasional weekend opportunities)

FOR 3RD SHIFT: 12:00 AM - 8:00 AM (Mon-Fri, and occasional weekend opportunities)

Qualifications

General understanding of scientific molding concepts and injection mold design.
Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and ability to follow company procedures and work instructions.
Ability to implement, explain, and defend molding process adjustments.
Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Word and Excel.
Strong communication skills (both verbal and written).
Reliability and a strong work ethic.

Physical Demands / Working Conditions

Must be aware of and adhere to all company safety policies.
Must be able to frequently position self to set up, operate, and troubleshoot injection molding machines, robots, and auxiliary equipment.
Ability to move throughout the manufacturing facility to effectively support production operations across all shifts.
Requires mechanical aptitude to manipulate tools and perform precise adjustments on plastic injection molds and related machinery.
Must be able to accurately exchange technical information and provide clear instructions when training or mentoring molding personnel.
Work is performed in a manufacturing environment, with regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and typical machine shop hazards.
