Job summary

Summit Polymers in Michigan seeks an Engineer, Manufacturing (Molding) to lead hands-on injection molding of interior trim and center consoles. You’ll guide tooling, process development, and automation, ensuring safety, quality and productivity. Collaboration with plant staff to implement robust molding strategies and supplier coordination is essential.

Strong problem-solving and teamwork required. Experience with Krauss Maffei/VanDorn or Wittmann robotics is preferred; bachelor’s degree or 5

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or 5 years experience in an injection molding environment.
• Scientific injection molding knowledge and mold process development ability.
• Molding automation / EOAT knowledge and robot programming ability.
• Knowledge of gas-assist, sequential valve gate processing, and multi-material molding.
• Ability to read and critique drawings for high-quality mold designs.

Responsibilities

• Develop molding tool & processes for new products and optimize designs.
• Lead injection mold trials and process development activities.
• Implement molding automation and EOAT integration with presses.
• Support safety, quality and productivity in molding operations.
