Job summary

Amcor is seeking a skilled Machinist to join the Tool Room, responsible for maintaining and repairing molds and related equipment to support production. You will troubleshoot mold issues, operate presses, and help train new teammates in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate has machinist experience with lathes, mills, and grinders, plus familiarity with measurement tools and mold systems. A high school diploma and tool ownership are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completed machinist apprenticeship or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with machining equipment (lathes, mills, grinders).
• Knowledge of injection mold components and systems.
• Proficiency with measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges).
• Good mathematical, analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Must provide own hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Operate molding presses and assist in mold repair and maintenance.
• Troubleshoot molding process issues related to molds.
• Set, pull, clean, and inspect molds; perform mold testing.
• Wire and check mold heaters; ensure mold safety and readiness.
• Monitor mold efficiencies and support continuous improvement.
• Maintain Mold Maintenance Files with dates and details.
• Maintain a clean, organized Tool Room; follow safety procedures.
• Collaborate with Maintenance, Molding, Printing, and other teams.
• Shut down equipment when required to prevent harm.
• Assist with training of new team members.
