Job summary

Summit Polymers in Michigan is seeking a Mold Technician 1 (Non Exempt) to perform molding machine setups, start-ups, operation, and shutdowns. This hands-on role requires following standard work procedures and using Summit Lean Manufacturing System tools, with focus on process verification and quality checks.

The tech will identify basic problems, assist with operator training, and support equipment maintenance and safe production flow while adhering to environmental and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Must be able to complete post-hire training modules within specified time frame.
• Ability to safely perform side-load/top-load mold changes and basic quality tasks after training.
• Must meet physical requirements including lifting up to 60 pounds and standing for long shifts.

Responsibilities

• Safely performing injection mold changes and machine start-ups in the proper sequence and within time standards.
• Troubleshooting basic machine and equipment problems.
• Troubleshooting basic robot problems.
• Completing machine process adjustments to ensure product meets specifications.
• Assisting with Operator/Utility tasks and shift activities.
