Job summary

Phoenix Contact is seeking a Mold Set Up Technician to manage setup, heat up, start up, and operation of plastic injection molding presses per the set up sheet. You will troubleshoot processes and support shift staff, with off-site training and occasional travel as required.

The role requires experience in injection molding, ability to read engineering drawings, and comfort with standard PC software; safety, housekeeping, and ISO procedures are emphasized.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Technology preferred.
• 5+ years experience with injection molding preferred.
• Injection molding troubleshooting skills required.
• Working knowledge of plastic injection molding process is required.
• Proficient with PC and Windows software including Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Set up, heat up, start up, operate, troubleshoot, and adjust process settings for plastic injection molding presses per set up sheet.
• Demonstrate problem solving and strong troubleshooting skills for injection molding processes.
• Train and assist shift personnel and machine operators.
• Assist maintenance with troubleshooting and equipment repair as directed.
• Provide analysis and spreadsheets related to molds and injection molding processes.
• Perform mold care, repair, installation, and removal of molds.
• Oversee and perform operations for the plastics injection molding department on shift.
• Ensure safety and housekeeping standards are maintained.
