Job summary

The Tara Meadows and Thomas Apartments are seeking a skilled in-house painter to maintain the quality of our residential units and common areas. You will paint apartments during turnover and assist with maintenance-facing spaces to ensure a fresh, lasting finish.

Responsibilities include surface prep, sanding, taping outlets, estimating materials, mixing paints, applying coats, tool upkeep, safety compliance, and coordinating with the maintenance team.

Qualifications

• 1+ year experience in painting for residential or commercial buildings.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience with paint, varnish and related products.
• Strong attention to detail and time management.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare walls and surfaces (sanding, taping outlets, crack repairs).
• Estimate time and materials needed.
• Mix and apply paint and varnishes; use appropriate solvents.

• Prepare walls and other surfaces through sanding, taping off outlets, repairing cracks, etc.
• Estimate time and materials needed
• Mix and apply paint, varnishes, and necessary solvents
• Use a variety of tools to achieve the desired finish on the painted surface
• Set up and take down additional equipment as needed
• Maintain all tools and equipment
• Perform final inspection to ensure quality and accuracy of work
• Adhere to workplace safety rules and regulations
• Assist the maintenance team with outside vendors

Painter Requirements

• [1+] years of previous experience as a Painter for residential or commercial buildings
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Skill with paint, varnish, and other associated products
• Superb attention to detail
• Excellent time management skills
• Ability to work alone or as part of a team
• Previous experience working with power tools is preferred
