Job summary
Amerita, Inc. is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support infusion pharmacy and home medical equipment operations. The role focuses on labeling, dispensing, and coordinating patient care with Pharmacists, nurses, and coordinators.
Responsibilities include patient record documentation, IV therapy preparation coordination, and on-call availability evenings/weekends. Requires state license, IV certification preferred, and 1–3 years in pharmacy settings.
Qualifications
- Completion of an approved pharmacy technician training program; IV certification preferred.
- Registered Pharmacy Technician license required by state regulations.
- National Pharmacy Technician Certification as required by the state board of pharmacy.
- 1–3 years of related pharmacy experience in home care, retail, or pharmacy setting.
- General knowledge of drug terminology and calculations; aseptic techniques.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and facilitate referrals and admissions with nurses and distribution.
- Assess patient and drug information to identify drug-related needs.
- Escalate to a clinician when needed.
- Answer inquiries from patients, families, physicians, and healthcare professionals; document communication in patient records.
- Prepare labels, prescriptions, and compounding worksheets; maintain lot numbers and expiration dates.
- Generate delivery/pick slips and pull supplies and home equipment.
- Communicate inventory information to Pharmacist and document progress notes.
