Job summary

Amerita, a home infusion provider, seeks a skilled Pharmacy Technician to prepare, label and dispense pharmaceuticals and coordinate IV therapies and home medical equipment orders. You will collaborate with Pharmacists, Nurses and care teams to ensure safe, accurate medication handling and documentation.

The role requires completion of an approved technician program, active state license, and IV certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of an approved/accredited pharmacy technician training program; IV certification preferred.
• A valid state Pharmacy Technician license is required.
• National Pharmacy Technician Certification as required by state board; on-call availability may be needed.
• 1–3 years of related pharmacy experience in home care, retail, or similar setting.
• Flexible schedule with willingness to work evenings and weekends as scheduled.
• Able to read and interpret prescriptions and perform basic pharmaceutical calculations.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and facilitates new referrals and admissions with nurses, customer service and distribution.
• Conducts and documents initial and ongoing assessment of patient, drug and disease information.
• Escalates to a clinician as needed.
• Answers inquiries from patients, families, physicians and other healthcare professionals.
• Maintains documentation in patient records for all clinical activities and communications.
• Prepares labels, prescriptions and compounding worksheets; maintains lot numbers and expiration dates.
• Generates delivery/pick slips under pharmacist supervision and assists with supplies and equipment.
• Supports branch management and quality improvement activities.
• Ensures compliance with accreditation, OSHA, FDA, state and federal regulations.
