Job summary

Amerita in Oklahoma City is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support IV therapies and home medical equipment orders under Pharmacist supervision. You will prepare labels, compounding worksheets and maintain batch records while coordinating referrals and admissions with nurses and distribution.

Qualifications include completion of an accredited technician program, state license, and 1–3 years of pharmacy experience (home care or retail).

Qualifications

• Completion of an approved/accredited pharmacy technician training program
• Registered Pharmacy Technician license in state of practice
• National Pharmacy Technician Certification as required by the state board
• 1–3 years of related pharmacy experience in home care, retail, or pharmacy
• Flexible schedule with on-call evenings and weekends
• Effective mathematical and communication skills
• Basic pharmacy knowledge of reading prescriptions
• Ability to work independently, accurately and efficiently

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and facilitates referrals and admissions with nurses, service and distribution
• Conducts initial and ongoing assessment of patient, drug and disease information
• Escalates to a clinician as needed
• Responds to inquiries from patients, families, physicians and healthcare professionals
• Maintains documentation in patient records of clinical activities and communications
• Schedules preparation of IV therapies and home medical equipment orders with the Pharmacist
• Coordinates patient care activities with Pharmacists, Nurses and Technicians
• Prepares labels, prescriptions and worksheets and manages lot numbers, expirations and batch records
• Generates delivery/pick slips under Pharmacist supervision; selects supplies and equipment
• Obtains inventory information from patients/clients and documents in progress notes
• Participates in branch meetings and quality improvement activities
• Complies with accreditation, OSHA, FDA, state and local regulations
• Other duties as assigned
