Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–3 years of pharmacy technician experience or equivalent in prior authorizations.
• PHAT-Licensed Pharmacy Technician – DORA required.
• CPHT certification through PTCB or NHA required.
• Knowledge of Medicare, managed care, Medicaid, CHP+ eligibility and enrollment processes.

Responsibilities

• Provide access to non-specialty and specialty medications for patients.
• Complete pharmacy-benefit prior authorization requests and manage related renewals.
• Submit applications for manufacturer drug and co-pay assistance programs.
• Coordinate assistance applications with forms, income proof, clinical information, and provider signatures.
• Track requests, secure timely approvals, and follow up on denials.
• Maintain documentation and records of program participation and medications dispensed.
• Complete electronic health record documentation according to program standards.
• Analyze and use data and reports to monitor and improve contract performance.
• Work with Enrollment Services Department.
• Enroll eligible patients into manufacturer patient assistance and co-pay programs.
• Provide pharmacy information to nurse case managers, health coaches, and patient navigators.
• Coordinate refill renewal requests and manage prior authorization dates.
