Job summary

AdventHealth in Asheville, NC is seeking a PRN Oncology RN to provide infusion care across Asheville, Haywood, Hendersonville, Polk, and Weaverville locations. The role requires an Associate's Nursing degree with RN licensure and BLS; ACLS/OCN preferred.

Expect 1+ year in acute oncology care and strong communication and documentation skills. Day shifts, PRN schedule, and a commitment to patient safety and compassionate care are essential.

to provide coverage for all infusion locations, Asheville, Haywood, Hendersonville, Polk, and Weaverville

Shift

PRN Days

• Educates patients and families on health conditions, procedures, and care plans, ensuring understanding and compliance based on assessed learning needs.. Maintains compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies, ensuring legal and ethical practice.
• Ensure the appropriate use and stewardship of medical supplies and equipment to support patient safety and operational efficiency
• Follows CDC isolation guidelines, demonstrates appropriate use of PPE, performs hand hygiene according to policy, and enforces safety regulations.
• Communicates effectively with patients, families, physicians, and staff, maintaining professional relationships and promoting a positive environment.
• Assists physicians in providing care to patients with oncology and hematology conditions.
• Maintains accurate nursing documentation including patient histories, conditions, treatments, vital signs, responses, and assessment of changes.
• Responds quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition or response to treatment.
• Communicates effectively with front office staff to coordinate patient care. Provides care that reflects initiative, flexibility, and responsibility with minimal supervision.
• Participates in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings, and workshops.
• Administers medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring patient safety and adherence to protocols.
• Prioritizes care based on physical and psychosocial needs, as well as factors influencing patient flow through the system.
