Job summary

Keck Medicine of USC is seeking an Infusion Registered Nurse to deliver chemotherapy, biotherapy and IV therapies in outpatient settings. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, float to various locations as needed, and ensure safe, compassionate care aligned with policy and patient education.

The role requires a BSN (or an approved equivalent) and 2 years RN experience, with strong communication skills and experience with blood collection or apheresis procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) required upon hire.
• AA Degree in Nursing accepted in lieu of BSN if hired prior to 3/2021.
• 2 years RN experience in a related healthcare setting.
• Excellent communication skills, including speaking, reading and writing English.
• Knowledge of medical procedures including blood collection and apheresis, per policies.

Responsibilities

• Assesses and screens patients on arrival to receive therapy.
• Interprets assessment data and formulates nursing diagnoses.
• Maintains problem, medication and allergy lists.
• Administers medications and chemotherapy/biotherapy per policy and safety rules.
• Documents assessments, screenings, and medication administration accurately.
• Provides patient and family education based on the treatment plan.
• Maintains infusion equipment and monitors alarms and patient status.
• Communicates effectively with the health care team and patients/families.
• Manages time and priorities; adheres to regulatory requirements.
• Performs other assigned duties.
