Job summary

Lowcountry Oncology Associates is seeking an Infusion Nurse to join a compassionate outpatient team delivering cancer care. You will administer infusion therapies, monitor responses, and educate patients and families, while collaborating with physicians and other clinical staff to ensure safe, efficient care.

Ideal candidates will hold an SC RN license, have 1–2 years infusion or IV experience, and familiarity with oncology workflows and EMR systems.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in SC.
• Minimum 1-2 years infusion nursing experience preferred.
• Experience in Hematology/Oncology Office preferred.
• EMR system experience required.

Responsibilities

• Observe patient, monitor drug reactions, and notify supervisor or physician as needed.
• Maintain comfort and safety, provide blankets, snacks, and beverages.
• Deliver chemotherapy regimens per physician orders in collaboration with the team.
• Practice safe administration of infusions, injections, and transfusions.
• Take vitals to detect deviations and assess patient condition.
• Work with multidisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care across treatment stages.

Responsibilities include:

• Observes patient, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies supervisor or Physician of patient's condition and reaction to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents.
• Maintains awareness of comfort and safety needs of patient and their families, provides blankets, snacks, and beverages.
• Works collaboratively with the Physicians and RN's to deliver chemotherapy regiments to patients according to Physician orders.
• Practices safe administration of infusions, injections, and transfusions.
• Takes temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and other vital signs to detect deviations from normal and assess condition of patient.
• Acts as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide continuity of care throughout various stages of treatment and follow-up including, but not exclusive to providers, social work, dietician, integrative medicine, pharmacy, navigators, laboratory, radiation therapy, genetics, and clinical research.
• Assists with administering shots and phlebotomy as required.
• Reviews all chemotherapy regiments before delivering to patients.
• Put away medical and supply stock as delivered.
• Check infusion regiments for accuracy, communicate to the clinical care team regarding any concerns.
