Job summary

University Medical Associates (UMA) is seeking a PRN infusion RN to provide professional nursing care for patients receiving intravenous treatments, administer IV therapies as directed by physicians, and document observations in the EMR.

Requires RN licensure, 2+ years of RN experience; BSN preferred. BLS certification; chemotherapy/biotherapy certification if applicable; familiarity with IDX and Practice Partner; collaborate with physicians and staff to coordinate infusion scheduling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
• RN with Associate or Diploma must enroll in BSN within two years and obtain BSN within four years (policy reference A141).
• Minimum of two years of work experience as a Registered Nurse required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates care for infusion patients.
• Liaises between registration staff and clinical staff to facilitate patient flow.
• Confers with physicians regarding need and scheduling of infusion/clinic visits.
• Assesses and reviews physician orders to assist with scheduling.
• Manages comprehensive nursing care for patients with varying needs.
• Organizes and prioritizes nursing activities with the team.
• Documents all patient care activities in the EMR, including medications.
• Participates in performance improvement/research activities.
