Job summary

Metro Infectious Disease Consultants in Thousand Oaks, CA seeks a Registered Nurse to supervise and administer infusion therapy. Schedule: 3 days/week (Mon Tue Thu), 24 hours total. The role includes placing peripheral lines, reviewing labs, and e-prescribing under physician orders.

Ideal candidates have CA RN licensure, 2+ years in RN office practice, infusion experience, and vaccination compliance. Chemo experience is preferred but not required; strong documentation and patient communication

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current CA RN license.
• At least two years RN office practice experience, preferably in an infusion-related practice.
• Infusion experience.
• Chemo experience is preferred, but not required.
• Vaccinations up to date including measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, hepatitis A & B, influenza and COVID-19.

Responsibilities

• Place peripheral lines for new patients and teach self-administration of medications; document in Medical Record.
• Review daily lab results and relay information to physicians or patients.
• E-prescribe prescriptions per doctor’s orders and communicate with pharmacies.
• Answer calls and manage patient scheduling.
• Review EMR charts for next day’s appointments and ensure all fields are documented for meaningful use.
• Respond to telephone inquiries and meet with patients in the office.
• Participate in quality assurance and educational activities as requested.
• Use clinical judgment to evaluate patient care needs and establish priorities.
• Monitor safety and equipment in the environment.
• Support professional practice per Nursing Standards, MIDC policies, and laws.

Metro Infectious Disease Consultants is seeking a Registered Nurse for supervision and administration of infusion therapy 3 days/week at the clinic located in Thousand Oaks, CA

Schedule: 3 Days/Week; 24 hours/week (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday)

Specific Duties:

• Place Peripheral Lines (peripherally inserted central catheter) lines for new patients, teach infusion patients how to self-administer medications. Document same in Medical Record.
• Review and chart daily laboratory results, passing information on to physicians and/or patients as needed.
• Eprescribe prescriptions at doctor’s order and communicate to pharmacies.
• Receive and return patient and other’s telephone calls.
• Review EMR charts for next day’s appointments, ordering lab results, consult reports or notes as necessary and document all required fields are within EMR to be eligible for meaningful use.
• Responding to telephone calls, meeting patients in the office and scheduling patients to come to the office as needed.
• Participate in quality assurance and educational activities as requested.
• Uses clinical judgment in evaluation activities to meet patient care needs establishing priorities.
• Monitors the safety and effectiveness of the environment and equipment.
• Participates in activities to facilitate good interpersonal communications with facility.
• Supports professional practice by observing the following: Uses knowledge and practices in accordance with 1) Standards of Nursing Practice; 2) JCAHO, state and local laws; 3) MIDC policy.

Qualifications and Experience

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing

• At least (2) two years RN office practice experience, preferably in an infusion-related practice
• Infusion experience
• Chemo experience is preferred, but not required
• Proof of current vaccinations, including recommended boosters, commonly required for those working with immunocompromised patients, including measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, hepatitis A & B, influenza, and COVID-19.
