Metro Infectious Disease Consultants in Overland Park, KS seeks a Registered Nurse for supervision and administration of infusion therapy four days per week, totaling 32 hours. The role includes placing lines, reviewing labs, documenting in EMR, and coordinating patient care with physicians.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years RN office/infusion experience, current KS RN license, and immunization up-to-date status.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing is required.
• Current KS RN license is required.
• At least two years RN office practice experience, infusion-related preferred.
• Infusion experience is required; chemo experience is preferred but not required.
• Vaccinations up to date including boosters for immunocompromised patients (measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, hepatitis A & B, influenza, COVID-19).

Responsibilities

• Place peripheral lines for new patients and teach self-administration; document in EMR.
• Review daily labs and communicate results to physicians/patients.
• E-prescribe per doctor’s orders and coordinate with pharmacies.
• Answer phone calls and schedule appointments.
• Review EMR for next day’s appointments and ensure all required fields are complete.
• Participate in quality assurance and educational activities as requested.
• Monitor safety and effectiveness of environment/equipment.
• Support professional practice per standards and laws.

Metro Infectious Disease Consultants is seeking aRegistered Nursefor supervision and administration of infusion therapy 4 days/week at the clinic located inOverland Park, KS.

Schedule:4 Days/Week; 32 hours/week (M-W, F; Thursdays off)

Specific Duties:

• Place Peripheral Lines (peripherally inserted central catheter) lines for new patients, teach infusion patients how to self-administer medications. Document same in Medical Record.
• Review and chart daily laboratory results, passing information on to physicians and/or patients as needed.
• Eprescribe prescriptions at doctor’s order and communicate to pharmacies.
• Receive and return patient and other’s telephone calls.
• Review EMR charts for next day’s appointments, ordering lab results, consult reports or notes as necessary and document all required fields are within EMR to be eligible for meaningful use.
• Responding to telephone calls, meeting patients in the office and scheduling patients to come to the office as needed.
• Participate in quality assurance and educational activities as requested.
• Uses clinical judgment in evaluation activities to meet patient care needs establishing priorities.
• Monitors the safety and effectiveness of the environment and equipment.
• Participates in activities to facilitate good interpersonal communications with facility.
• Supports professional practice by observing the following: Uses knowledge and practices in accordance with 1) Standards of Nursing Practice; 2) JCAHO, state and local laws; 3) MIDC policy.
