Metro Infectious Disease Consultants seeks a Registered Nurse to supervise and administer infusion therapy at the Overland Park clinic. The schedule is 4 days per week, totaling 32 hours.

The ideal candidate holds a KS RN license, has infusion experience, and can document care in the EMR. Chemo experience is preferred but not required; vaccinations must be up to date.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current KS RN license.
• At least 2 years RN office practice experience; infusion experience preferred.
• Infusion experience required; chemo experience preferred but not required.
• Vaccinations up to date including boosters for immunocompromised patients.

Responsibilities

• Place peripheral lines and teach self-administration; document in EMR.
• Review daily labs and relay results to physicians/patients.
• Eprescribe prescriptions per doctor’s orders and communicate to pharmacies.
• Answer calls and schedule patient visits as needed.
• Review EMR for next day appointments and order/tests as required.
• Ensure patient safety and equipment readiness; adhere to Nursing Standards and MIDC policy.
• Contribute to quality assurance and interdisciplinary communication.
• Other duties as assigned.

Metro Infectious Disease Consultants is seeking aRegistered Nursefor supervision and administration of infusion therapy 4 days/week at the clinic located inOverland Park, KS.

Schedule:4 Days/Week; 32 hours/week (M-W, F; Thursdays off)

Specific Duties:

• Place Peripheral Lines (peripherally inserted central catheter) lines for new patients, teach infusion patients how to self-administer medications. Document same in Medical Record.
• Review and chart daily laboratory results, passing information on to physicians and/or patients as needed.
• Eprescribe prescriptions at doctor’s order and communicate to pharmacies.
• Receive and return patient and other’s telephone calls.
• Review EMR charts for next day’s appointments, ordering lab results, consult reports or notes as necessary and document all required fields are within EMR to be eligible for meaningful use.
• Responding to telephone calls, meeting patients in the office and scheduling patients to come to the office as needed.
• Participate in quality assurance and educational activities as requested.
• Uses clinical judgment in evaluation activities to meet patient care needs establishing priorities.
• Monitors the safety and effectiveness of the environment and equipment.
• Participates in activities to facilitate good interpersonal communications with facility.
• Supports professional practice by observing the following: Uses knowledge and practices in accordance with 1) Standards of Nursing Practice; 2) JCAHO, state and local laws; 3) MIDC policy.

• Proof of current vaccinations, including recommended boosters, commonly required for those working with immunocompromised patients, including measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, hepatitis A & B, influenza, and COVID-19.
