Job summary

Metro Infectious Disease Consultants is seeking a Registered Nurse to supervise and administer infusion therapy four days per week at our Overland Park, KS clinic. The role involves IV line placement, patient education, and coordination of care with physicians.

The ideal candidate has an active KS RN license, at least two years in office-based nursing (infusion preferred), infusion and chemo experience is a plus, and must meet vaccination requirements for immunocompromised patients.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current KS RN license.
• At least 2 years RN office practice experience, preferably in an infusion-related practice.
• Infusion experience.
• Chemo experience is preferred, but not required.
• Proof of current vaccinations, including boosters commonly required for immunocompromised patients (measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, hepatitis A & B, influenza, COVID-19).

Responsibilities

• Place Peripheral Lines and teach patients how to self-administer medications, with documentation in the Medical Record.
• Review and chart daily laboratory results and relay findings to physicians or patients as needed.
• E-prescribe prescriptions at doctor’s orders and communicate to pharmacies.
• Handle patient and other calls, schedule appointments, and ensure EMR entries are complete for meaningful use.
• Review next day’s appointments and required lab results in EMR and document fields accordingly.
• Respond to telephone inquiries and assist patients in the office.
• Participate in quality assurance and educational activities.
• Use clinical judgment to prioritize patient care and ensure safety of the environment and equipment.
• Support professional practice by adhering to nursing standards and MIDC policies.
