METRO INFECTIOUS DISEASE CONSULTANTS seeks a full-time Registered Nurse to supervise and administer infusion therapy at the Florence, AL clinic. The role emphasizes patient education, safety, and collaboration with physicians to ensure quality infusion care.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited nursing program, current Alabama RN license, and at least two years of RN office practice experience, preferably infusion. Chemo experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.

• At least two years RN office practice experience, preferably in an infusion-related practice.
• Infusion experience.
• Chemo experience is preferred, but not required.
• Proof of current vaccinations as required for immunocompromised patients.

Responsibilities

• Place peripheral lines for new patients and educate on self-administration; document in medical records.
• Review daily lab results and relay information to physicians or patients as needed.
• Eprescribe prescriptions per doctor’s order and communicate to pharmacies.
• Answer calls, greet patients, and schedule visits as needed.
• Review EMR charts and ensure required fields are complete for meaningful use.
• Maintain safety and effectiveness of environment and equipment.
• Participate in quality assurance and educational activities.
• Adhere to Standards of Nursing Practice, laws, MIDC policies.

Florence, AL.

Metro Infusion Center (affiliated with Metro Infectious Disease Consultants) is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse for supervision and administration of infusion therapy at the clinic located in Florence, AL.

Schedule:

M- F (8:30am-5:00pm)

Specific Duties

• Place Peripheral Lines(peripherally inserted central catheter) lines for new patients, teach infusion patients how to self-administer medications. Document same in Medical Record.
• Review and chart daily laboratory results, passing information on to physicians and/or patients as needed.
• Eprescribe prescriptions at doctor’s order and communicate to pharmacies.
• Receive and return patient and other’s telephone calls.
• Review EMR charts for next day’s appointments, ordering lab results, consult reports or notes as necessary and document all required fields are within EMR to be eligible for meaningful use.
• Responding to telephone calls, meeting patients in the office and scheduling patients to come to the office as needed.
• Participate in quality assurance and educational activities as requested.
• Uses clinical judgment in evaluation activities to meet patient care needs establishing priorities.
• Monitors the safety and effectiveness of the environment and equipment.
• Participates in activities to facilitate good interpersonal communications with facility.
• Supports professional practice by observing the following: Uses knowledge and practices in accordance with 1) Standards of Nursing Practice; 2) JCAHO, state and local laws; 3) MIDC policy.
