Amerita, Inc. is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to prepare and dispense pharmaceuticals, label accurately, and support inventory and quality assurance. You will collaborate with nurses, pharmacists, and care coordinators to ensure timely IV therapy preparation and equipment delivery.

The role requires completion of an accredited technician program, state license, and potentially IV certification. Strong math and communication skills, with flexibility for on-call evenings/weekends, are essential.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of an approved/accredited pharmacy technician training program.
• IV certification preferred.
• Registered Pharmacy Technician license in state of practice per state regulations.
• National Pharmacy Technician Certification as required by the state board of pharmacy in state of practice.
• One to three (1-3) years of related pharmacy experience in a home care setting, retail, or pharmacy setting.
• General knowledge of drug terminology, pharmaceutical calculations, drug use and aseptic techniques.
• Flexible schedule with the ability to work on-call evenings and weekends on an as-scheduled basis.
• Effective mathematical and communication skills required.
• Basic pharmacy knowledge of reading and interpreting prescriptions.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and facilitates new referrals and admissions through collaboration with nurses, customer service and distribution.
• Conducts and documents initial and ongoing assessment of patient, drug and disease information to identify drug-related problems or needs.
• Escalates to a clinician as needed.
• Answers inquiries from patients, families, physicians and other healthcare professionals; escalates to a clinician as needed.
• Maintains thorough documentation in the patient record of clinical activities and communication.
• Coordinates and schedules preparation of IV therapies and home medical equipment orders with the Pharmacist.
