Job summary

Amerita, an affiliate of BrightSpring Health Services, is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support infusion services and home medical equipment orders. The role involves coordinating referrals, preparing labels and prescriptions, and maintaining drug records under the supervision of a Pharmacist.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years of relevant experience, a state licensure, and strong math and communication skills, with a flexible schedule including on-call evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Complete an approved pharmacy technician training program; IV certification preferred.
• Hold a Registered Pharmacy Technician license in the state of practice.
• National Certification as required by the state board of pharmacy.
• 1–3 years of pharmacy experience in home care, retail, or pharmacy setting.
• General knowledge of drug terminology, calculations, and aseptic techniques.
• Flexible schedule with on-call evenings and weekends.
• Ability to read and interpret prescriptions.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and facilitates referrals and admissions with nurses and distribution.
• Conducts initial and ongoing assessment of patients and drug information to identify needs.
• Escalates to a clinician when necessary.
• Answers inquiries from patients, families, physicians, and healthcare professionals.
• Maintains documentation in patient records of clinical activities and communications.
• Coordinates preparation of IV therapies and home medical equipment orders with Pharmacist assistance.
• Assists in coordinating patient care activities with Pharmacists and Nurses.
• Prepares labels, prescriptions and worksheets; maintains lot numbers and expiration dates.
• Generates delivery/pick slips under Pharmacist supervision; picks supplies and equipment.
• Obtains supply inventories from patients and documents communications in progress notes.
• Participates in branch meetings and quality improvement activities.
• Adheres to accreditation, OSHA, FDA, state and local regulations for infusion pharmacy and HME.
