Job summary

Virginia Mason Franciscan Health in the Puget Sound area seeks a Pharmacy Technician, Infusion Clinic, to prepare sterile medications, including hazardous drugs, under supervision of a Pharmacist.

You will support procurement of medications and related items, perform calculations and ensure compliance with regulatory standards and the Drug Supply Chain Security Act. This role requires high attention to detail and strict adherence to procedures to ensure safe, accurate medication preparation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Two years IV room compounding experience including hazardous medications.
• WA Pharmacy Technician license upon hire.
• Completion of appropriate training program, upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepare sterile medications, including hazardous drugs, under Pharmacist supervision.
• Procure medications and related items to meet clinic needs and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Perform pharmaceutical calculations and prepare sterile parenteral medications upon provider order.
• Provide information for medications prepared to billing staff and review inventories for expiration.
• Place orders, review for cost savings, and adhere to the formulary; coordinate backorders and returns.
• Ensure compliance with the Drug Supply Chain Security Act and related policies; manage vendor data and dropship items.
