Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and accredited pharmacy technician training.
• Becoming registered with the NC Board of Pharmacy within 180 days (Tech I).
• NC Board of Pharmacy registration required for Tech II; PTCB or ExCPT certification also required.
• Minimum one year related pharmacy or healthcare experience (Tech II).

Responsibilities

• Process prescriptions, prepare and dispense medications following procedures.
• Restock cabinets and workstations; assist with medication safety initiatives.
• Answer calls and coordinate with the pharmacy team to resolve issues.
• Deliver medications and supplies to patient care areas; document activities.
• Assist with training and support for new staff and students.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited pharmacy technician-training program

Acceptance into pharmacy school

High school diploma or equivalent and one year of pharmacy or health care related experience

Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB) or ExCPT

Pharmacy Technician registration with North Carolina Board of Pharmacy within 180 days
