Job summary

Texas Oncology is seeking a PRN Oncology Infusion RN to join the team at The Medical Center location in Houston, TX. Workweek is Monday–Friday with no weekends or holidays, and no on-call responsibilities.

Role may be Level I, II, or Senior based on experience. The RN will provide professional nursing care adhering to standards, collaborating with the interdisciplinary team, and supporting compliance programs.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
• RN license in practicing state; current registration.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Oncology experience strongly preferred.
• Entry level 0-3 years nursing experience; Oncology preferred.
• Level II requires 3+ years nursing experience; Oncology preferred.
• Level Senior requires 5+ years nursing with 1+ year in Oncology.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate and promote continuity of care.
• Assess patient/family needs and provide teaching materials.
• Prepares and administers therapies under physician supervision.
• Administers medications/blood products with correct dosage and route.
• Ensures pre-authorization and appropriate consent forms are obtained.
• Facilitates dose modification by assessing labs and protocol, and consulting physician.
• Performs venipuncture and accesses ports and central lines.
• Maintains accurate documentation of patient care and treatments.
• Applies knowledge of reimbursement procedures and charge capture.
