Job summary
Premiere Healthcare Staffing is seeking an Oncology Registered Nurse for a 12-week assignment in Lewiston, Maine. The role involves direct infusion care, administering chemotherapy and related therapies, and coordinating with the oncology team to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.
Requirements include an active RN license in the state, BLS and ACLS certifications, and a minimum of one year of oncology experience.
Qualifications
- Current and valid state RN license.
- BLS (AHA) certification upon hire and maintained.
- ACLS (AHA) certification upon hire and maintained.
- Minimum one year of RN Oncology experience required.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct care to oncology patients in an infusion setting.
- Administer chemotherapy, biotherapy, immunotherapy, and IV infusions per protocol.
- Perform patient assessments and monitor treatment response and side effects.
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medications, and symptom management.
- Ensure adherence to oncology safety standards and hazardous drug handling protocols.
- Communicate clinical changes, labs, and diagnostic results to physicians.
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure HIPAA compliance.
- Collaborate with oncology care team to coordinate treatment and supportive care.
