Job summary

The Rector & Visitors of the University of Virginia is seeking an Infusion Registered Nurse to join UVA Health’s community health team. This full-time role focuses on infusion therapies, including chemotherapy, with an emphasis on safe IV access, patient assessment, and rapid management of adverse reactions.

Candidates should have a nursing degree and oncology infusion experience; Oncology Nursing Certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required.
• Experience: Prior oncology nursing and infusion therapy preferred.
• Licensure: Oncology Nursing Certification - Preferred
• Knowledge of chemotherapy drugs, their administration, and potential side effects.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and administer infusion therapies including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, blood products, and supportive care.
• Monitor patients during infusion and promptly address complications or adverse reactions.
• Manage complications and infusion-site issues; maintain IV lines and central venous devices.
• Ensure infection control practices and vascular access device standards are met.
• Complete ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certification within the first year of employment and maintain BLS.
• Maintain accurate documentation of care, vital signs, and interventions.
