Job summary

The Rector & Visitors of the University of Virginia is seeking an Infusion Registered Nurse Lead for UVA Health Northern VA & Culpeper. You will coordinate IV therapies, supervise infusion care and ensure infection control and patient safety in a fast-paced oncology setting.

Responsibilities include patient assessments, education for patients and caregivers, lab result interpretation, and collaboration with the care team to optimize treatment plans.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required.
• Prior experience in oncology nursing and infusion therapy preferred.
• Refer to Life Support Training Policy for additional details.
• Oncology Nursing Certification - Preferred

Responsibilities

• Infusion Therapy Administration: coordinate and administer IV treatments and infusions, monitor patients and manage complications.
• Patient Assessment and Management of Care: perform comprehensive assessments and educate patients and caregivers.
• Lab Testing and Result Management: analyze lab results and ensure timely communication for therapy eligibility.
• Documentation and Record Keeping: maintain accurate patient records and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Patient Care: identify opportunities to improve patient care and provide education and resources.
• Teamwork: collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and participate in regular meetings.
• Technical Competency: obtain history, review records, order tests, and support diagnostic/treatment planning.
