Job summary

UC San Diego Health is seeking an Infusion Center RN to deliver chemotherapy, biotherapy, and infusion-related services in a fast-paced setting. The role requires central line access, venipuncture, and collaboration with physicians, NPs, and a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient care.

The position involves floating to multiple Infusion Clinics as needed, with a focus on autonomous nursing within ANA standards of practice and professional performance.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited school of Nursing.
• RN License issued by the State of California.
• BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six months.
• Minimum two years of active oncology RN experience with infusion experience.
• ONS Chemotherapy and Biotherapy certification with recent experience (last 6 months).
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to manage multiple levels of information.
• Excellent communication with staff, physicians, patients, and external constituents.
• Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office; strong organization.

Responsibilities

• Provide infusion therapies including chemotherapy and biotherapy and support clinical trials infusions.
• Access central lines/ports and perform venipunctures as needed for labs.
• Collaborate with physicians, NPs, PAs, and other teams to address patient needs.
• Respond to medical emergencies and float to other Infusion Clinics as required.
