UC San Diego Healths Jacobs Medical Center 5FG unit is a 24-bed Medical Oncology/Palliative Care Progressive Care Unit where nurses provide advanced oncology care, including chemotherapy and biotherapy, with an emphasis on holistic, multidisciplinary care. The team prioritizes empathetic patient support and rigorous clinical standards.

Qualified RNs with California licensure, oncology experience, and chemotherapy certification are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate from an accredited school of Nursing.
• RN License issued by the State of California.
• BLS/CPR and ACLS certifications at time of hire with commitment to get UCSD ART within six months of hire date.
• Chemotherapy Certification at time of hire or commitment to initiate within 6 months and achieve within one year.
• Minimum of two years recent inpatient oncology experience (or one year in oncology/palliative care if pool is small).
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills for moderately complex problems.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with empathy and kindness.
