Job summary

Metro Infusion Center in Valparaiso, IN seeks a licensed Nurse Practitioner for infusion therapy supervision and administration on a PRN basis. The role focuses on IV placement, medication preparation, and patient care in a clinic setting.

Ideal candidates have APRN credentials, infusion experience, and up-to-date vaccinations. Chemo experience is a plus. Flexible schedule and a guaranteed minimum 4 hours at $80 per hour are offered.

Qualifications

• APRN license required.
• Infusion therapy experience preferred.
• Chemo experience preferred but not required.
• Current vaccinations including boosters required for immunocompromised patients.

Responsibilities

• Place and maintain peripheral IVs for infusion therapy.
• Prepare medications for IV administration as ordered.
• Administer IV therapy using electronic pumps or gravity/dial-a-flow systems.
• Document infusion charting in the EMR and communicate with patients.
• Address patient questions about adverse effects within scope of practice.
• Support safety and effective environment and equipment.
• Cover clinic as needed per supervisor direction.
• Uphold nursing standards, laws, and MIDC policies.

Metro Infusion Center (Affiliated with Metro Infectious Disease Consultants) is seeking a licensedNurse Practitionerfor supervision and administration of infusion therapy on aPRNbasis to work at the clinic located inValparaiso, IN.

Specific Duties:

• Place and maintain peripheral IV catheters for infusion therapy needs with ongoing assessment of IV site.
• Prepare medication for IV administration as ordered.
• Administer IV therapy via electronic pump with troubleshooting of pump alarms and/or administration via gravity/dial-a-flow tubing.
• Document infusion charting and patient message(s) in EMR system.
• Addressing patient’s questions or concerns related to adverse effects/side effects, diagnosis, treatment etc. within scope of Mid-level provider.
• Uses clinical judgment in evaluation activities to meet patient care needs establishing priorities.
• Monitors the safety and effectiveness of the environment and equipment.
• Participates in activities to facilitate good interpersonal communications with facility.
• Agree to cover any clinic as needed per direction of the Manager of Clinical Operations.
• Supports professional practice by observing the following: Uses knowledge and practices in accordance with 1) Standards of Nursing Practice; 2) JCAHO, state and local laws; 3) MIDC policy.
• Other duties and tasks as assigned

• Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN)
• Nurse Practitioner experience, preferably in an infusion related setting
• INFUSION EXPERIENCE
• Chemo experience is preferred, but not required
• Proof of current vaccinations, including recommended boosters, commonly required for those working with immunocompromised patients, including measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, hepatitis A & B, influenza, and COVID-19.
