Metro Infusion Center, affiliated with Metro Infectious Disease Consultants, seeks a licensed Nurse Practitioner to supervise and administer infusion therapy on a PRN basis in Tigard, OR. _Specific Duties:_ Place and maintain IV lines, prepare IV meds, administer therapy via pump or gravity, document in EMR, address patient questions, and ensure safety.

Qualifications

• Infusion therapy experience preferred for handling infusions and patient care.
• Ability to place and maintain peripheral IV lines and monitor IV sites.
• Experience documenting infusion care in EMR systems.
• Strong patient communication and ability to answer questions within mid-level provider scope.

Responsibilities

• Place and maintain peripheral IV catheters for infusion therapy needs with ongoing assessment of IV site.
• Prepare medications for IV administration as ordered.
• Administer IV therapy via pump or gravity/dial-a-flow tubing with proper safety.
• Document infusion charting and patient messages in EMR.
• Address patient questions/concerns related to adverse effects within scope of practice.
• Use clinical judgment to meet patient care needs and establish priorities.
• Monitor safety and effectiveness of environment and equipment.
• Collaborate with staff to maintain good interpersonal communication.
• Cover clinic as needed per Manager of Clinical Operations direction.
• Observe nursing standards and applicable laws.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Specific Duties:

• Place and maintain peripheral IV catheters for infusion therapy needs with ongoing assessment of IV site.
• Prepare medication for IV administration as ordered.
• Administer IV therapy via electronic pump with troubleshooting of pump alarms and/or administration via gravity/dial-a-flow tubing.
• Document infusion charting and patient message(s) in EMR system.
• Addressing patient’s questions or concerns related to adverse effects/side effects, diagnosis, treatment etc. within scope of Mid-level provider.
• Uses clinical judgment in evaluation activities to meet patient care needs establishing priorities.
• Monitors the safety and effectiveness of the environment and equipment.
• Participates in activities to facilitate good interpersonal communications with facility.
• Agree to cover any clinic as needed per direction of the Manager of Clinical Operations.
• Supports professional practice by observing the following: Uses knowledge and practices in accordance with 1) Standards of Nursing Practice; 2) JCAHO, state and local laws; 3) MIDC policy.
• Other duties and tasks as assigned

• Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN)
• Nurse Practitioner experience, preferably in an infusion related setting
• INFUSION EXPERIENCE
• Chemo experience is preferred, but not required
• Proof of current vaccinations, including recommended boosters, commonly required for those working with immunocompromised patients, including measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, hepatitis A & B, influenza, and COVID-19.
