Job summary

Metro Infusion Center in Tigard, OR is seeking a licensed Nurse Practitioner for supervision and administration of infusion therapy on a PRN basis at our clinic.

The role involves IV placement, medication preparation, IV therapy administration, and EMR documentation. You will address patient concerns within your mid-level provider scope while supporting a collaborative team in a casual, growth-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license required.
• Infusion experience preferred, chemo experience a plus.
• Vaccinations up to date as required for immunocompromised patients.

Responsibilities

• Place and maintain IV access for infusion therapy and assess IV sites.
• Prepare medications for IV administration and monitor infusions.
• Administer IV therapy using electronic pumps and troubleshoot alarms.
• Document infusion data in the EMR and address patient questions.
• Capable of scope-based clinical judgment and safe patient care.

Job description

Metro Infusion Center (Affiliated with Metro Infectious Disease Consultants) is seeking a licensed Nurse Practitioner for supervision and administration of infusion therapy on a PRN basis to work at the clinic located in Tigard, OR.

Specific Duties:

• Place and maintain peripheral IV catheters for infusion therapy needs with ongoing assessment of IV site
• Prepare medication for IV administration as ordered
• Administer IV therapy via electronic pump with troubleshooting of pump alarms and/or administration via gravity/dial-a-flow tubing
• Document infusion charting and patient message(s) in EMR system
• Addressing patient's questions or concerns related to adverse effects/side effects, diagnosis, treatment etc. within scope of Mid-level provider
• Uses clinical judgment in evaluation activities to meet patient care needs establishing priorities
• Monitors the safety and effectiveness of the environment and equipment
• Participates in activities to facilitate good interpersonal communications with facility
• Agree to cover any clinic as needed per direction of the Manager of Clinical Operations
• Supports professional practice by observing the following: Uses knowledge and practices in accordance with 1) Standards of Nursing Practice; 2) JCAHO, state and local laws; 3) MIDC policy
• Other duties and tasks as assigned

Requirements

• Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN)
• Nurse Practitioner experience, preferably in an infusion related setting
• INFUSION EXPERIENCE
• Chemo experience is preferred, but not required
• Proof of current vaccinations, including recommended boosters, commonly required for those working with immunocompromised patients, including measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, hepatitis A & B, influenza, and COVID-19
