Job summary

Metro Infusion Center in Fairfield, CT is seeking a licensed Nurse Practitioner to supervise and administer infusion therapy on a PRN basis at our clinic in Fairfield, CT.

The ideal candidate holds APRN credentials with infusion experience; chemotherapy experience is a plus but not required. Vaccination proof for immunocompromised patients is expected, and flexibility to cover multiple clinic sessions is required.

Responsibilities

• Place and maintain peripheral IV catheters for infusion therapy with ongoing assessment of the IV site.
• Prepare medications for IV administration as ordered.
• Administer IV therapy using an electronic pump and troubleshoot pump alarms.
• Document infusion charting and patient communications in the EMR.
• Address patient questions or concerns within the scope of a mid-level provider.
• Apply clinical judgment to prioritize patient care needs.
• Monitor safety and effectiveness of the environment and equipment.
• Support good interpersonal communications with the facility.

Metro Infusion Center (Affiliated with Metro Infectious Disease Consultants) is seeking a licensed Nurse Practitioner for supervision and administration of infusion therapy on a PRN basis to work at the clinic located in Fairfield, CT.

Qualifications

• Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN)
• Nurse Practitioner experience, preferably in an infusion related setting
• INFUSION EXPERIENCE
• Chemo experience is preferred, but not required
• Proof of current vaccinations, including recommended boosters, commonly required for those working with immunocompromised patients, including measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, hepatitis A & B, influenza, and COVID-19.

Specific Duties

• Place and maintain peripheral IV catheters for infusion therapy needs with ongoing assessment of IV site.
• Prepare medication for IV administration as ordered.
• Administer IV therapy via electronic pump with troubleshooting of pump alarms and/or administration via gravity/dial-a-flow tubing.
• Document infusion charting and patient message(s) in EMR system.
• Address patient’s questions or concerns related to adverse effects/side effects, diagnosis, treatment etc. within scope of Mid-level provider.
• Uses clinical judgment in evaluation activities to meet patient care needs establishing priorities.
• Monitors the safety and effectiveness of the environment and equipment.
• Participates in activities to facilitate good interpersonal communications with facility.
• Agree to cover any clinic as needed per direction of the Manager of Clinical Operations.
• Supports professional practice by observing the following: Uses knowledge and practices in accordance with 1) Standards of Nursing Practice; 2) JCAHO, state and local laws; 3) MIDC policy.
• Other duties and tasks as assigned
