Job summary

UNC Health in North Carolina seeks a Clinical Nurse to coordinate and deliver patient care using the nursing process in an outpatient/physician practice setting. The role supports the Infusion Therapy unit at Pardee UNC Health Care and is performed on a per diem, onsite basis with a daytime schedule.

Responsibilities include administering care under physician direction, prioritizing patient needs, collaborating with the care team, and ensuring safety and infection control.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina or one of compact states by the day of clinical care.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Administers patient care under the direction of a physician.
• Identifies and pursues expected patient outcomes in collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team.
• Provides competent clinical nursing care consistent with healthcare organization and nursing standards, policies and procedures.
• Organizes and prioritizes care according to patient/family needs. Consults with appropriate resources regarding complex care or unusual teaching needs.
• Collaborates with peers in a clinical operations environment, fostering intra/interdepartmental communication.
• Synthesizes data to determine priorities for care, including physical, psychosocial, education and safety needs.
• Communicates with patient/family to prepare or update the plan of care using cultural competency and active listening.
• Develops clinical and operational excellence in self and peers through education and training.
• Promotes a safe, clean and secure environment with standard precautions and infection control principles.
