Job summary

City of Hope is seeking a California-registered Pharmacy Technician II to join our team in a float role supporting Huntington Beach and Irvine locations. You will package, prepare, and compound medications under pharmacist supervision and help manage inventory and stock control.

Responsibilities include collaborating with nursing staff, assisting in medication billing, and ensuring departments meet USP 797/800 standards. This role requires CA licensure and preferred CPhT certification.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required
• Post high school vocational training preferred
• CA State Board of Pharmacy licensure required or eligible
• Certified Pharmacist Technician (CPhT) preferred

Responsibilities

• Package, prepare and compound oral, intravenous, and chemotherapy medications under pharmacist supervision.
• Manage inventory and stock control; ensure timely deliveries with pharmacies or manufacturers.
• Maintain control procedures and assist in billing pharmaceuticals.
• Coordinate with nursing/medical staff to support positive patient outcomes.
• Perform inspections of storage areas and prepare audit reports.
• Maintain aseptic technique and comply with USP 797 & 800 requirements.
• Maintain accurate medication inventory and conduct routine cleaning and inspections.
