Job summary

City of Hope in Thousand Oaks, CA, seeks a Pharmacy Technician II to support pharmacists in delivering safe, high-quality pharmaceutical care, including preparation, packaging, and compounding for oral, IV, and chemotherapy medications. Under supervision of a licensed Pharmacist, you will ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities include inventory control, processing prescriptions, prior authorizations, benefits verification, labeling, routing, and coordination with infusion

Qualifications

• Three or more years performing duties as a pharmacy technician.
• CPhT certification from Pharmacy Technician Certification Board.
• PTCB certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with USP 797 & 800 at all times.
• Utilize aseptic technique for pharmaceutical mixing.
• Order, receive, and maintain accurate medication inventory.
• Coordinate with Specialty Pharmacies or manufacturers for timely deliveries of medications for infusion.
• Perform routine daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning as required.
• Procure and maintain supplies necessary for daily mixing operation.
• Process prescription orders and entry.
• Coordinate and submit prior authorizations.
• Determine patient prescription benefits and seek financial assistance when applicable.
• Route and release prescriptions to the appropriate pharmacy.
• Label and fill prescription drugs.

Join our team as a Pharmacy Technician II and play a vital role in delivering safe, high-quality pharmaceutical care. Under the supervision of a licensed Pharmacist, you will be responsible for preparing, packaging, and compounding a variety of medications, including oral, intravenous (IV), and chemotherapy/biohazard medications.

As a successful candidate, you will:

• Ensure compliance with USP 797 & 800 at all times.
• Utilize proper aseptic technique for all pharmaceutical mixing.

• Coordinate with Specialty Pharmacies or manufactures for timely deliveries of medications for infusion.

Your qualifications should include:

• High School or equivalent or Post High School vocational/specialized training or Graduation from a foreign school of Pharmacy
• 3 or more years of performing related duties as a pharmacy technician
• Certified Pharmacist Technician (CPhT) from Pharmacy Technician
• Certification Board (PTCB), preferred
