Job summary

GovCIO is hiring a Developer with Infrastructure Tool Kit (ITK) experience to develop and maintain systems code for the USPS.

The role is fully remote within the United States, requiring a Public Trust clearance and experience with Agile, SDLC, Change/ Configuration Management, and ALM. Candidate should be proficient with Docker, Jenkins, GitLab, Kafka, Kubernetes, and CI/CD practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with 5–8 years of relevant experience.
  • Clearance required: Public Trust.
  • DevSecOps, secure coding practices, and the Solutions Development Framework (Docker, Jenkins, GitLab).
  • Designing and developing event/message-based services using a message queue like Kafka.
  • Experience with automated testing and CI/CD in SecDevOps environments.
  • APIs, microservices, and cloud-native architectures (serverless/minimal ops).

Responsibilities

  • Participate in project planning to determine programming and hardware needs; prepare specs and diagrams.
  • Design, code, test, and debug programs using the Infrastructure Tool Kit (ITK).
  • Adhere to USPS development standards and ensure data security.
  • Maintain contact with team leader, customers, contractors, and vendors to monitor progress.
  • Revise and update programs and documentation as needed.
  • Perform other job-related tasks as required.

Overview

GovCIO is currently hiring for a Developer with Infrastructure Tool Kit (JTK) experience to develop and maintain systems code for the United States Postal Service (USPS). This position will be will be fully remote within the United States. The ideal candidate should possess a Public Trust clearance, knowledge/experience with Agile Methodologies, SDLC practices, Change Management and Configuration Management (VersionOne, ServiceNow, etc), and Applacation Lifecycle Management (ALM).

Responsibilities
List of tasks to be performed:
  • Participate in the project planning process that determines programming and hardware needs. Assist or lead in preparing programming specifications and in developing coding logic. Prepare charts, diagrams, and other documentation as needed.

  • Design, code, test, and debug computer programs, independently or as part of a team, using computer languages identified and available in the Infrastructure Tool Kit (ITK).

  • Adhere to consistent utilization of USPS development standards, procedures and processes. Ensure systems compatibility. Follow data security procedures and identify potential data security risks.

  • Maintain contact, as designated, with the team leader, customers, contractors, and equipment vendors to monitor progress and coordinate varied project stages.

  • Maintain computer programs and systems. Revise and update computer programs, procedures, and systems; including rewrites to the systems documentation and instructions, as necessary.

  • Performs other job-related tasks as assigned or required to support the duties outlined above.

Qualifications

Bachelor's with 5 - 8 years (or commensurate experience)

  • DevSecOps, Secure Coding practices, and the Solutions Development Framework (Docker, Jenkins, GitLab)

  • Designing and developing event/message-based application services using a message queue (e.g. Apache Kafka)

  • Using automated unit testing and user interface testing tools, ideally in a test-driven-development approach.

  • Use of source code management tools, ideally in a continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD pipeline) SecDevOps environment

  • API centric, microservices, serverless applications, or similar cloud-friendly application designs.

  • Cloud Development with Dataflow, PubSub, or Redis

  • Microservices design

Posted Salary Range

USD $65,000.00 - USD $80,000.00 /Yr.
