Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a Developer with Infrastructure Tool Kit (ITK) experience to develop and maintain USPS systems code. This fully remote US-based role requires a Public Trust clearance and familiarity with Agile methodologies, SDLC, Change Management and Configuration Management practices.

Responsibilities include designing, coding, testing and debugging programs, ensuring USPS standards and data security, and coordinating with team leaders, customers and vendors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 5-8 years (or commensurate experience).
• Clearance Required: Public Trust.
• Preferred: DevSecOps, Secure Coding practices, and the Solutions Development Framework (Docker, Jenkins, GitLab).
• Experience with event/message-based services using a message queue (e.g. Apache Kafka).
• CI/CD in a SecDevOps environment.
• API-centric, microservices, serverless applications, or cloud-native designs.

Responsibilities

• Participate in project planning to determine programming and hardware needs and prepare specifications.
• Design, code, test, and debug programs using ITK development standards.
• Adhere to USPS development standards and data security procedures.
• Coordinate with team leaders, customers, contractors, and vendors to monitor progress.

Overview

GovCIO is currently hiring for a Developer with Infrastructure Tool Kit (JTK) experience to develop and maintain systems code for the United States Postal Service (USPS). This position will be will be fully remote within the United States. The ideal candidate should possess a Public Trust clearance, knowledge/experience with Agile Methodologies, SDLC practices, Change Management and Configuration Management (VersionOne, ServiceNow, etc), and Applacation Lifecycle Management (ALM).

Responsibilities

List of tasks to be performed:

• Participate in the project planning process that determines programming and hardware needs. Assist or lead in preparing programming specifications and in developing coding logic. Prepare charts, diagrams, and other documentation as needed.

• Design, code, test, and debug computer programs, independently or as part of a team, using computer languages identified and available in the Infrastructure Tool Kit (ITK).

• Adhere to consistent utilization of USPS development standards, procedures and processes. Ensure systems compatibility. Follow data security procedures and identify potential data security risks.

• Maintain contact, as designated, with the team leader, customers, contractors, and equipment vendors to monitor progress and coordinate varied project stages.

• Maintain computer programs and systems. Revise and update computer programs, procedures, and systems; including rewrites to the systems documentation and instructions, as necessary.

• Performs other job-related tasks as assigned or required to support the duties outlined above.
