Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan is seeking an IT technician to set up and maintain computer, networking and communications hardware at our Sierrita site near Tucson, AZ. You will install PCs, phones, switches, RF devices and mesh networking gear following established procedures.

You will help manage servers, storage, and MIS-related infrastructure, participate in safety programs and contribute to environment compliance. A high school diploma or GED is required, with additional certifications preferred.

Qualifications

• Four years of experience in computer/electronic systems hardware, software troubleshooting, maintenance and repair, or six years with no certs.
• One technical certification in a discipline relevant to the role.

Responsibilities

• Set up, deliver and install personal computers, telephones, networking and peripherals following defined procedures.
• Configure, install, troubleshoot and monitor networking devices and infrastructure (copper and fiber).
• Assist in managing site servers and process control infrastructure, including virtual/physical servers and storage.
• Assist in executing MIS and process infrastructure projects.
• Participate in Safety and Environmental programs and ensure MIS policy compliance.
• Perform other duties as required.

What You Will Do

• Set-up, deliver and install personal computers, telephones, networking, and peripheral equipment using established and defined procedures and processes.
• Configure, install, troubleshoot, and monitor communications devices, including switches, hubs, wireless devices, MESH networking components, voice system, RF systems and other networking infrastructure (both copper and fiber optic)
• Assist in the management of site's servers and process control infrastructure, including site virtual/physical servers and storage devices.
• Assist in the execution of projects related to MIS and process infrastructure.
• Actively participate in Safety and Environmental programs, ensure MIS policy compliance and site operational goals.
• Perform other duties as required.

What You Bring To Freeport

• Four (4) years of experience in computer/electronic systems hardware/software troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairANDone (1) Technical Certification in a discipline relevant to the role that the applicant will be filling,OR
• Six (6) years of experience in computer/electronic systems hardware/software troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair

What We Offer You

The estimated pay range for this role is currently$32.00 - $43.00/hour. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors.
