Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan Inc. is seeking an IT/Facilities technician for the Sierrita operations near Tucson, AZ. You will set up and install computers, phones and networking equipment, configure network devices, and assist in managing servers and MIS infrastructure to support 24/7 operations.

The role requires 4+ years in hardware/software troubleshooting or 6 years experience with a relevant background; multiple certifications are preferred. Competitive benefits and on-site work at Sierrita.

Qualifications

• Four (4) years of hardware/software troubleshooting with one relevant technical certification.
• Six (6) years of hardware/software troubleshooting and repair experience.

Responsibilities

• Set up, deliver and install computers, telephones, networking, and peripherals.
• Configure and troubleshoot networking devices, switches, wireless, RF, and related infrastructure.
• Assist in managing site's servers and storage.
• Assist in MIS and process infrastructure projects.
• Participate in Safety and Environmental programs and ensure MIS policy compliance.
• Perform other duties as required.

What You Will Do

• Set-up, deliver and install personal computers, telephones, networking, and peripheral equipment using established and defined procedures and processes.
• Configure, install, troubleshoot, and monitor communications devices, including switches, hubs, wireless devices, MESH networking components, voice system, RF systems and other networking infrastructure (both copper and fiber optic)
• Assist in the management of site's servers and process control infrastructure, including site virtual/physical servers and storage devices.
• Assist in the execution of projects related to MIS and process infrastructure.
• Actively participate in Safety and Environmental programs, ensure MIS policy compliance and site operational goals.
• Perform other duties as required.

What You Bring To Freeport

• Four (4) years of experience in computer/electronic systems hardware/software troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairANDone (1) Technical Certification in a discipline relevant to the role that the applicant will be filling,OR
• Six (6) years of experience in computer/electronic systems hardware/software troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair

What We Offer You

The estimated pay range for this role is currently$32.00 - $43.00/hour. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance. More details will be shared during the hiring process.
