Job summary

Seneca Resources is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Technician II to support installation, testing, maintenance, service, and decommissioning of structured cabling and low-voltage infrastructure in telecommunications and data center environments.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of hands-on cabling experience, with data center exposure and familiarity with fiber optic and copper systems, racks, and pathways.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of professional experience in structured cabling or related field.
• Hands-on fiber optic and copper cabling installation, testing, and decommissioning.
• Experience with data center infrastructure, racks, pathways, and cabinets.
• Ability to read blueprints and installation drawings with accuracy.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Install, test, troubleshoot, service, and decommission structured cabling systems.
• Install and remove data center racks, cabinets, and cable trays.
• Support cabling projects in data centers and telecom rooms.
• Read blueprints, floor plans, and installation docs.
• Identify and resolve cabling issues while maintaining safety standards.
• Assist with equipment moves and infrastructure modifications.
• Follow safety procedures around active infrastructure.
• Maintain documentation and ensure installations meet requirements.
• Travel to job sites and operate company vehicles.

Position Description:

We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Technician II to support the installation, testing, maintenance, service, and decommissioning of structured cabling and low-voltage infrastructure in telecommunications and data center environments.

The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of hands-on structured cabling or telecommunications experience, with data center experience strongly preferred. This position is well suited for a technician who is comfortable working with fiber optic and copper cabling, racks, cabinets, cable trays, pathways, and other physical infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, terminate, test, troubleshoot, service, and decommission structured cabling systems, including fiber optic, copper, telecommunications, and low-voltage cabling.
• Perform hands-on installation and removal of data center racks, cabinets, cable trays, pathways, and related infrastructure.
• Support cabling and infrastructure projects in data centers, telecommunications rooms, and other technical environments.
• Read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, floor plans, and installation documentation.
• Identify and resolve cabling and infrastructure issues while maintaining quality, safety, and installation standards.
• Assist with equipment moves, infrastructure modifications, installations, and decommissioning activities.
• Follow established safety procedures and industry standards while working around active technical infrastructure.
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure completed installations meet project requirements.
• Travel to job sites as required and operate company vehicles or other vehicles when necessary.

Required Skills/Education:

• 3–5 years of professional experience in structured cabling, telecommunications, low-voltage systems, or a closely related field.
• Hands-on experience installing, testing, servicing, and/or decommissioning fiber optic and copper cabling.
• Experience with structured cabling infrastructure, cable pathways, cable trays, racks, and cabinets.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, and technical installation plans.
• Strong understanding of data center or telecommunications infrastructure; data center experience is highly preferred.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to work safely in active data center, telecommunications, and construction environments.
• OSHA 10 certification preferred; candidates without certification must be able to obtain it within 90 days.
• First Aid/CPR certification required within 90 days of employment.
• FOA, BICSI, or comparable structured cabling certifications are preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, safety awareness, and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with project and field teams.
