Job summary

MBTA is seeking a Quality Manager within the Infrastructure Maintenance Quality Management team to lead QA/QC activities for infrastructure projects and maintenance programs. The role ensures compliance with established standards, reviews designs, inspections, and performance analyses, and drives continuous improvements across engineering and operations.

The candidate will collaborate with internal teams and external consultants to strengthen system reliability, manage risks, and advance quality

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related engineering field from an accredited institution.
• Minimum five years of engineering experience in transportation, signals, or asset management.
• Experience with QA/QC standards, policies, and procedures.
• Knowledge of federal/state/local regulations (FTA, FRA, DOT, OSHA).
• Strong written and verbal communication and report generation.

Responsibilities

• Lead quality assurance activities for infrastructure maintenance and projects.
• Develop and interpret QA/QC standards, criteria, and drawings.
• Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and operations teams to improve quality outcomes.
• Develop metrics and analytics to measure QA/QC program performance.
• Support project managers with design reviews, submittals, and field inspections.
• Provide guidance to consultants and contractors to ensure compliance with standards.
