Job summary

VoltaGrid in Houston seeks an Assistant Project Manager to support the Project Manager in all phases of project execution, from estimating through closeout. Qualifications

• Bachelors preferred in a construction-related field.
• 2 years of project support in construction or power infra is a strong plus.
• Experience with substations or electrical utility projects is a plus.
• Strong organization and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the Project Manager in managing projects from pre-construction through final delivery.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
• Track and manage project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and meeting minutes.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and asset teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
• Participate in subcontractor and vendor coordination, including purchase orders and monitoring performance.
• Support estimating through quantity takeoffs and cost summaries.
• Maintain project tracking logs for schedule updates, change management, procurement status, and other metrics.
• Collaborate with safety and quality teams to support compliance.
• Support closeout activities, including documentation, punch lists, turnover packages.
• Assist in resolving field issues, RFIs, and unforeseen challenges with internal teams and subs.
• Help enforce contractual and regulatory compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
