Job summary

VoltaGrid LLC is seeking an Assistant Project Manager in Houston, TX to support the Project Manager across all construction phases of electrical infrastructure projects. You will assist in estimating, planning, scheduling, and closeout, with a focus on delivering on-time results and maintaining cost controls.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in construction-related field and at least two years in project support roles, with proficiency in MS Office and scheduling software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Science or Engineering preferred.
• Two years of experience in project support roles within construction or power infrastructure is desirable.
• Experience with substations or electrical utility projects is a strong plus.
• Understanding of construction means, methods, and sequencing, especially electrical infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Support the Project Manager in managing projects from pre-construction through final delivery.
• Assist in developing and maintaining project schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
• Track and manage project documentation including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and meeting minutes.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and asset teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
• Participate in subcontractor and vendor coordination, including purchase orders and performance monitoring.
• Contribute to estimating by conducting quantity takeoffs and preparing cost summaries.
