Job summary

Mercor is seeking a Private Equity Associate focused on infrastructure for a remote, contract role. You will build and deliver a standalone financial model of an infrastructure transaction, with an editable Excel workbook and live formulas.

The role requires 2–4 years in IB/infra PE, exposure to digital infrastructure, and fluency in English. You will peer-review other models and work asynchronously to meet tight deadlines, 20-25 hours per week.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years total experience in investment banking (infra, power & utilities, or real estate / TMT M&A) followed by 1–2 years in infrastructure private equity.
• Currently or recently an Associate at an infrastructure-focused PE fund, or the infrastructure arm of a multi-strategy manager.
• Exposure to digital infrastructure - data centres, fibre, or towers.
• Able to build a financial model from source documents, without a template.
• Fluent English.

Responsibilities

• Build a working financial model of an assigned infrastructure transaction from a synthetic deal document pack.
• Deliver an editable Excel workbook with live formulas, source references, and stated assumptions.
• Peer-review two anonymized models from other contractors against a fixed set of criteria. Provide a short written rationale for each and a completed review scorecard.
• Work independently and asynchronously to meet deadlines while improving model accuracy and depth.
