Job summary

Mercor is seeking an experienced private equity associate to construct a working financial model of a real estate transaction from a synthetic deal document pack. You will deliver an editable Excel workbook with live formulas, references, and clearly stated assumptions, enabling quick scenario testing.

You will peer-review two anonymized models against fixed criteria, providing concise rationales and a completed review scorecard to support investment decision making.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years total experience across IB/PE roles.
• Ability to build a financial model from source documents without a template.
• Fluent English for communication and documentation.

What you'll do

• Build a working financial model of an assigned real estate transaction from a synthetic deal document pack
• Deliver an editable Excel workbook with live formulas, source references, and stated assumptions
• Peer-review two anonymized models from other contractors against a fixed set of criteria, with a short written rationale for each and a completed review scorecard

Requirements

• 2-4 years total experience: ~2 years investment banking (Real Estate or Industrials) followed by 1-2 years in private equity
• Currently or recently an Associate at a real-estate-focused mid-market or upper-mid-market PE fund
• Able to build a financial model from source documents, without a template
• Fluent English
