LinTech Global Inc. is recruiting an Infrastructure Operations Engineer / TOC Lead (SME) to support our contract at the IRS/CI in Fairfax, Virginia.

Location: 100% Remote

Position Overview:

The Infrastructure Operations Engineer / TOC Lead (Subject Matter Expert) is responsible for leading enterprise-level IT infrastructure operations and modernization across the Agency's Technical Operations Center (TOC) and Client Management Support Services (CMSS) environments. This SME ensures reliable, secure, and scalable IT systems supporting over 3,700 users, including 2,600 special agents worldwide. The role requires deep technical leadership, hands-on infrastructure engineering, and alignment with Agency's compliance and program's mission objectives.

Job Duties:

  • Core Area: Technical Operations Center (TOC)
  • Lead O&M and modernization of IRS-CI infrastructure: servers, networks, virtualization, storage, and backup systems.
  • Oversee application and server administration, patching, and lifecycle support across on-prem and cloud platforms.
  • Ensure compliance with Treasury Directives and Federal IT Security mandates.
  • Collaborate with CI Cybersecurity to harden infrastructure, enable remote operations, and secure endpoints.
  • Drive efficiency via automation, configuration management, and monitoring tools (e.g., SCCM, Ansible, SolarWinds).
  • Core Area: Client Management Support Services (CMSS)
  • Direct endpoint lifecycle management: provisioning, imaging, deployment, and patching of workstations and mobile devices.
  • Standardize and optimize client-side configurations across IRS-CI environments.
  • Implement and oversee automated software distribution, remote support tools, and hardware inventory systems.
  • Partner with User Support (US) and Cybersecurity (CYBER) teams for secure and resilient endpoint delivery.

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in IT infrastructure operations, system administration, or enterprise endpoint management.
  • Deep expertise with Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, SCCM, VMware, and cloud platforms (Azure ).
  • Experience leading large scale infrastructure or endpoint modernization projects in secure federal environments.
  • Knowledge of FISMA, NIST, IRS IT policies, and federal IT compliance standards.
  • Proven expertise in technical operations with the ability to act as a senior advisor (SME) to federal stakeholders.
  • : IRS-CI or Treasury experience highly desirable but not required.
  • Certifications: MCSE, Azure Administrator, ITIL, Security+ or equivalent.
  • Must be able to pass a background check in order to obtain a government public trust clearance.
