Job summary

Twenty80 LLC seeks an Infrastructure Network Engineer to operate as a dedicated onsite resource at a Houston client location. You will manage day-to-day network operations, troubleshoot complex routed and switched environments, document changes and drive improvements across the environment, with emphasis on reliability and security.

This role is heavily networking-focused and responsible for day-to-day network operations, troubleshooting, documentation, and continuous improvement across a complex routed and switched environment. The engineer will also support adjacent infrastructure needs including VMware, backups, servers, and security coordination. The ideal candidate is a strong hands-on network engineer who enjoys being the go-to onsite resource. They can think through full systems, anticipate downstream impacts, communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders, and adapt quickly in a fast-changing environment. Key Responsibilities Serve as the primary onsite networking resource for operations, troubleshooting, validation, documentation, and improvement. Administer and troubleshoot routed and switched environments (OSPF, VLANs, subnetting, inter-VLAN routing, trunking, port channels, spanning tree, routing tables, Cisco CLI). Investigate performance, connectivity, segmentation, DNS/DHCP, firewall handoff, wireless, and user-impacting issues; identify root cause and coordinate remediation. Support VMware/vSphere/vCenter, VM networking, backups, recovery validation, servers, and security coordination. Own onsite triage, documentation, escalation, communication, and follow-up to ensure a high-quality client experience. Qualifications 5+ years of progressive networking, infrastructure, systems, or advanced field support experience in complex or multi-site environments. Advanced hands-on networking experience with OSPF, VLANs, subnetting, routed/switching environments, trunking, port channels, spanning tree, segmentation, and Cisco CLI. Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to interpret configurations, validate changes, and assess downstream impact. Experience with enterprise wireless troubleshooting (Aruba preferred). Experience with VMware/vSphere/vCenter, VM networking, backups, and recovery validation; ability to learn tools such as Cohesity. Strong communication, documentation, customer service and project management skills. Preferred Skills Storage technologies (SAN/NAS, iSCSI). VOIP experience (Cisco Voice, Teams Voice). Cloud administration or monitoring tools (Microsoft 365, Azure, SolarWinds). Certifications: CCNP strongly preferred; CCNA acceptable with deep enterprise experience. VMware experience or certifications (VCP).
